Friday Night Frights (2013)
Genre: Animation, Family, Monster High
Rated: TV-Y7
Duration: 46 minutes
Friday Night Frights is the sixth TV special and results in one of my favorite releases of dolls, the Skultimate Roller Maze line.
This feature focuses on the school competition of Skultimate Roller Maze (also known as SKRM) which can be related to roller derby on an obstetrical course. As a former derby girl this puts this movie in one of the highest ranking possible positions.
The ghouls (girls) step up to a new challenge when the school’s team ends up being short a player, and then a whole team when the boys of the school refuse to play with a girl. They face a lot of resentment and harassment since girls haven’t played the game since Robecca Steam was demolished. Against all odds the girls make it to the SKRM championship. If you want to know if they win you need to watch this great tv special.
In this feature we learn about loyalty to friends, teamwork, being resilient when the world doubts you, and that not all traditions are worth keeping.
