Disclaimer: I select the majority of movies I watch based off the title and the image, rarely reading the synopsis. This movie is in addition to Lilo & Stitch, a Disney must see in my book! I recently discovered this lesser known gem called Leroy & Stitch! Which is also a must see if you liked the first movie. BTW this movie is the conclusion to the Disney Channel television series. Which is now on my must watch list, thanks to this movie! I didn’t even know that this was a thing! WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS WAS A THING?!
Synopsis: After many adventures Lilo, Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley have located all 625 of Jumba’s experiments, altered their bad to good levels, and found them new homes. In honor of their great deeds the Galactic Alliance rewards them! However, these rewards cause the group to separate forcing Lilo to have another life lesson and grow as a person. In true Disney fashion, it makes everyone realize how much they love and appreciate the little family they made together. This is no spoiler because all this is revealed in the processes before the major conflict is known.
While all of this change is happening, Gantu (the big shark guy in the first movie) breaks Dr. Hämsterviel out of prison. Together they force Jumba to complete a new evil experiment. 627, a.k.a Leroy. Basically an upgraded Stitch colored red . To make matters worse Dr. Hämsterviel clones Leroy! You may be wondering why does he do all this? Because Dr. Hämsterviel wants to take over the Galactic Alliance. They also decided to recapture the happy 625 experiments to make them evil again.
Our band of misfit heroes join back together with the assistance of all 625 previous experiments to save the Galactic Alliance. Of course they save the day, it is a Disney movie so no spoilers there!
Mala’s Thoughts: I LOVED this movie! There was a lot of thought that went into this movie and involving creatures from the TV show. Mind you, 625 experiments are a lot to develop so some character designs are extremely minimal! But they did well incorporating them into the story and into the background of Hawaiian life. The creative side of me would have loved being in on the design meetings! So much potential here!
Would this be a good drinking movie? I recommend watching this movie sober but it can be made into a drinking game. Just take a shot/sip for each of Jumba’s experiments that made it into the movie. Though you might want a beverage to sip on for this game cause there are 627 experiments. And some scenes you will have to chug to keep up with the experiments appearances.
